Monaghan U17s preparation for final coming to a close.
Monaghan u17s face a well disciplined Derry outfit that they lost out to 2 years ago in a league final. The Derry pack was described as ferocious and hard working while one of two of the backline have proved themselves as outstanding in the run ups to this big game. However it is well recognised that the MN pack is itself progressing solidly and has improved considerably through the qualifiers, with a big improvement against Clogher Valley in the quarter final and a further leap forward against Randalstown in the Semi. But the MN coaches are at pains to emphasise that a further step forward is needed this Saturday at 12.45 at the Mid Ulster arena in Cookstown. Indeed each and every MN player will be called on to up their game against Derry. Having said that the MN lads know what they are up against, coach John Mc Phillips sees no fear in the MN team and recognises that the lads owe Derry a response to previous battles so that they can make amends. John remains hopeful but doesn’t underestimate the task ahead nor does his captain Stefan Maguire who’s overall attitude can only be described as professional.
Support will be an important factor and the club wishes the lads the very best on the 27th April this Saturday at the Mid Ulster arena in Cookstown. Kick off 12.45
Good luck to all concerned !
