Monaghan U15 boys are travelling to France in September to play a number of French teams in the Montpellier region of LANGUEDOC. The club is organising some events to support the team and the trip.
Signed 6 Nation Jersey on display being raffled this Sunday at 4.30pm in the Monaghan Rugby clubhouse in RAFEENAN Ballinode. The jersey is signed by each of the winning 6 nation team including Brian O’Driscoll, last time to wear an Irish jersey. Included also is a Monaghan Ulster Championship jersey signed by each of the MN winning team from 2013 also subject to raffle. The FEATURED ball is signed by each of the Ospreys again courtesy of Angela Mc Quad and a jersey signed by Hammer of the “big hair” are also up for grabs.
Cake & fancy bake sale Friday 11th in Monaghan shopping centre
Please support this first ever U15 tour by a Monaghan youth team by turning up tomorrow Friday 11th in Monaghan shopping centre and take advantage of some fine cake, bun and tart cooking from mammies, grannies and aunties but also some talented male bakers. Get in early to catch the best of bake! NB All fancy food donations to the club Thursday evening from 8pm with delivery to the shopping centre Friday morning at 8 am.
Fun & Food day – Programmes of Events Sunday 13th at Ballinode
Bouncy castles, obstacle course, fun games and an “its a knock out event” interspersed with mini & youth games with a B.B.Q. and a presentation to kids, all making for a great day culminating in a big screen showing of the WC final. Plenty of activities to keep everyone fully involved.

So come along and support a very worthy cause for these young men representing their club, county and country in Monaghan’s first youth trip abroad.
French Trip Details.
The team flies out on the 26th September to Carcassonne playing their first game that evening against Agde. They will be hosts of Yves Michel Mayor of MArseillan that night, whose councillor for youth sport is organising an itinerary for the team. The second game takes place on Sunday morning against Pezenas with a return flight on Monday the 29th. Travelling Monaghan support would be brilliant. Ryanair also do flights to Beziers, very close by.
Marseillan is twinned with Castleblayney and sporting connections were established in late 2013 when the idea of a rugby tour was promoted. The area is renowned for rugby. The French no. 8 Louis Picamoles being a native of Marseillan with the area surrounded by some of Frances biggest rugby clubs.
