Malone lost their opening Ulster League fixture against Belfast Harlequins by 15-46.

Quins fielded a much stronger team, and Malone a youthful team with a number of key players missing. Malone showed well at the start of the first half but it was the visitors who started to dominate espically at the set pieces.

Quins scored a penalty and two tries to Malones converted try and sing penalty to leave the visitors ahead at half time by a single point.

Quins then stepped up the pressure in the second half scoring a further 5 tries, some of which were due to mistakes by the home side.

Malone replied with a try from winger Kyle Jordan.

On a sunny day it was Quinns superior firepower and greater experience that saw them home. Malone all to often struggled to hold the ball for any great length of time and to often were guilty of kicking away possession, however Malone took there scores well and at time there ware periods of enterprising play.

Next week will see us away to Dungannon.
