Malone lose to Greystones by a single point
Malone lose out to Greystones by a single point going down by 20-19.
Malone going into the final moments of the game looked to have done enough after the home side were awarded a line out on the Malone 22, the Greystones’ forwards took the ball on towards the line, a stones forward crashed towards the line, came up short and appeared to be held in the tackle by jamie Chapman the player moved forward to cross the line and the referee awarded a try. Malone players appealed to the referee that it was a double movement but to no avail, Greystones kicked the conversion deep into injury time to win the game by a single point.

Despite the last try, this was a game Malone should have won, their points came from tries from Leathem, and Scott and the remainder from the boot of Josh Pentland.
The Malone forwards were in excellent form , both at the set piece and in the loose and caused the home side all sorts of problems, all in all some poor decision making and finishing saw Malone not make the best of a good performance.
We spent to much time in the scoring zone without coming away with points on the scoreboard. The home-side to their credit never stopped playing and it was a most entertaining game to watch
The only consolation at the conclusion of this game was the losing bonus point, buy everyone new this was one that should not have slipped away.
A good performance, but we need to be more clinical and take are chances, next week will see us at home to Bective.
