We asked Norman for a comment and he said,
“Many thanks for putting the spotlight on a day in rugby I’ll never forget. In comparison with the overall brilliant season Academy has been having, my season started slow due to some minor injuries and lack of confidence, but with plenty of perseverance from Alastair and the other coaches it all finally came together against Portadown and I had one of those days where everything went my way.
It’s hard to think about how much you’ve scored during the game as you’re thinking about the action and how to get back into the game as a team, but once the final whistle went and the crowd raced onto the pitch I could start to think about what just happened.
It is a day I’ll never forget and one I’m sure I’ll never match in terms of points but my last word goes out to the hard work that’s going on at Academy and the excellent team spirit that can be found in the camp and I just hope our season goes on as it currently is and we continue to show how serious we are taking being in qualifying one, that we have got where we are on merit and long may this continue.”
