Come along and enjoy browsing and sampling the locally produced artisan food and drink. Or take time to unwind in the entertainment marquee where you can experience a craft beer, hot mulled wine or even just sit and relax. Complete with a bandstand where musicians, local bands and school children will perform over the weekend.
Magherafelt District Council is pleased to host, for the third year, a craft fair as part of the Christmas Market. Visitors to the Christmas Craft Marquee will be inspired and amazed by the variety, quality and originality of the hand-made craft products and gifts on display. There may even be a few special characters on display too!
Local Butchers are participating, with the hope of being crowned the winner of ‘Battle of the Butchers 2013’ Christmas sausage competition. Each participating butcher will be creating a new festive sausage just in time for Christmas. These sausages will be on sale in the participating Butchers on the run-up-to the Christmas Food Market, with people being encouraged to sample and vote for the one they like best.
Once again, the very popular ‘Cup Cake Challenge’ will be taking place.
There will be three categories, “The Most Delicious”, “The Prettiest” and “The Most Festive”. The only criteria for entering the competition is that the cupcakes must be homemade, so get your wooden spoons at the ready and prepare for the ‘Cup Cake Challenge’. To enter just bring your cupcakes along to the Craft Marquee before 2 pm on Saturday 30th November.

A new competition “New Year New Dish” is being run where local restaurants will be demonstrating a new dish that will be available in their restaurants in the new year.
