Lurgan Junior High School were crowned Ulster Carpets U14 High Schools’ Shield champions after defeating Dromore High School in the final on Thursday 28th February at Ballymena RFC.
The finals day at Ballymena RFC was contested by 12 schools from across the Province who each had to qualify through regional blitz days.
The weather was perfect for running rugby and the teams didn’t disappoint in the group stages with plenty of tries being scored. Dromore High School, Lurgan Junior High School and Killicomaine Junior High School progressed as pool winners and were joined in the semi-finals by Carrick College, who were the overall best runners up.
Dromore defeated Killicomaine while Lurgan saw off Carrick College in two closely fought last four clashes……….CLICK HERE for the full story
