How did PAS form?
Pro Athlete Supplementation was formed as a result of a successful winning partnership between Jon Williams, BSc, Registered Nutritionist and Darren Campbell, MBE, Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist. Jon was responsible for Darren’s nutrition during the last 10 years of his career where he amassed his gold and silver medals. At the time when Darren was close to retirement Jon suggested that they form a company to develop the most effective sports nutrition products for professional athletes, football and rugby players. Hence PAS was formed.
Providing athletes with products to enhance their recovery and performance was our starting point, however athlete safety is always priority. What is informed sport?
Informed-Sport is a quality assuranceprogrammefor sports nutrition products, suppliers to the sports nutrition industry, and supplement manufacturing facilities. Theprogrammecertifies that all nutritional supplements and/or ingredients that bear the Informed-Sport logo have been tested for banned substances by the world class sports anti-doping lab, LGC. Athletes choosing to use supplements can use the search function above to find products that have been through this rigorous certification process.

Since we formed the company in 2006 we have established a solid reputation amongst the elite of professional football and rugby clubs for producing research backed products that contain active ingredients at functional dosages. We ensure our clubs and athletes are provided with a first class service as we realize the demands of professional sport. Jon is the WRU National Squad Nutritionist, worked as consultant nutritionist for the British and Irish Lions 2013 Australia tour and is responsible for the four welsh regions – Ospreys, Blues,Scarletsand Dragons. Darren provides speed coaching consultancy for Cardiff City and numerous elite athletes. At PAS we are passionate about helping athletes, every product we develop is research backed to make sure our reputation stays high.
Our product range is constantly evolving based on research and feedback from professional sport. Our slogan “Field tested in professionals sport” is testament to the fact that we need to be able to respond and provide a superior sports nutrition service to make a difference today, not next season or 5 years from now.
However quality of the product will always remain a priority. Two good examples of this are
Creatine- we could buy creatinemonohydrate at 1/5th of the price we pay for the patented Creapure. However we believe that the Creapure brand from Germany which has consistently been shown to be a superior quality brand and is a trademarked brand is worth the extra price.
Beta Alanine– again we only use CarnoSyn- the patented form of Beta Alanine from United States. The majority of the initial research was performed using the is brand and we wish to supply our athletes with the best quality product. Again far cheaper versions are available.
How ever there is usually a good reason why raw materials may be a lot cheaper and we will not compromise on quality.
