As part of our community outreach to schools Brain Hughes, Instonian Community Rugby Officer, organised a coaching session at Shaw’s Bridge on Friday 26 October. Nearly 30 year 8 pupils from Knockbreda High attended the session and had a great time.
Brian was assisted by senior squad players Jonny Potts and Nick McMurray; head coach for the u13 squad, Ross Ellerby also turned up to help out. Thanks to these guys for lending their expertise and giving their valuable time.
The boys from Knockbreda High are largely new to rugby. Brian now goes into the school to provide weekly coaching sessions. However, the visit to Shaw’s Bridge was intended to cement the links between Seahorses Youth Rugby Academy and the young people. They now know where the club is and are very welcome to join our Seahorses’ U13 squad and to come to watch the seniors play rugby in the AIL.
