36 – 5
In the second half Tank Thompson completed his brace followed by a third try for Mark Riddell and a final try by Andrew Caddoo. Robin McCleary converted all three.
57 – 5
This was a great win to secure the League title and injured skipper Julian Knipe was a happy man, full of praise for the players and Derek McMullan but he reserved a special mention for, “Those players who have contributed throughout the year and for various reasons were not playing today. Sometimes, not often, it is difficult to pick the team when you are spoiled for choice but as anyone who plays for our IV XV knows it is the boys who play at late notice, frequently when they get a call on a Saturday morning, that are the players who have got us to this stage. Without the support of a large squad we would never have been able to compete so well in our first season back in the Junior League, apart from the unfortunate encounter with CI IIs early in the season we have also been undefeated. The season is not over because now we have the Harden Cup to look forward to.”
