It will be 4 years before anyone gets the chance to do that again, it was’nt England, It was’nt France, It was’nt Canada it was’nt anyone else but our girls! 3 Years ago we said that this Irish Girls Team could win the World Cup. Well that was true because they could have and that was a real prospect that we were all justified in believeing in, and knowing that, and knowing that girls have absolutely inspired a generation, literally an entire generation of Irish girls to pick up the ball and run with it so that the sport of Rugby in Ireland continues to achieve world class results and continues to put our country on the map is something that we are very very very proud of. NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE OUR PRIDE AWAY FROM US – NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE BACK WHAT THESE GIRLS AND COACHES AND EVERYONE IN IRELAND ACHIEVED IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. The work is not finished, excellence in what we do, excellence is a standard that is set by these players and coaches, and may we say they have set the world of rugby a light and they did with a bright step and a joyful love of the game! VERY VERY PROUD!
Knowing that we will very much enjoy with a bright smile on our faces the rest of the most successful World Cup to date building each time on the work of the past and seeking through our picking up the baton of those who have passed before we carry the excitement and the passion and the spirit of this great game in Ireland Forward and onwards. FOR IT IS A BRIGHT LIGHT IN OUR COUNTRY.
