This edition of Proptalk focuses solely on technique. As we travel around the schools and clubs this year we are going get the opinion of props across the province on the intricacies of the positions.
From that we might form a picture of the shared opinions on how to prop. Perhaps some insider secrets, and maybe some new ideas.
Below Rodney Bennett, Davy Black & Philip Moore from Clogher Valley Rugby club discuss what they see the role of loosehead and tighthead prop in the scrum and how they best achieve their objectives.
Its very hard to put into words exactly whats going on in the scrum for a prop, and even more difficult to describe when you are a prop (for obvious reasons lol, and I can only say that because I was one myself), but we think you will agree the guys do a very good job, both in the role and in their description.
For anyone watching these clips now and moving forward they are not telling anyone how to prop, they are simply the opinion of props who play the game, its a discussion, and you should always take the utmost care when playing prop and always be ready and get as much advice as you can always!
Thanks lads for the interviews, not a particularly easy thing to do but you were excellent.
