This was a clash between bottom placed Clonakility and second from bottom Instonians, for both teams a must win game.
The tension was high throughout the game, and even more evident with the contrast between both teams at the final whilstle.
Neutral observers would have enjoyed the ebb and flow of the game, but for those of us more closely linked we aged a lot in a very short period.

Last week we lost a match we could have won, with the opposition scoring 5 tries. This we could have lost another game but this time in which we infact scored 6 tries.
We won because we took our chances, we defended well against a team that will not be at the bottom of this league come the end of the season. Although at times individuals fell off tackles which a big Clonakility team exploited.
Our set pieces were good.
However our old achilles heel of penalties came back and with Clonaklilty’s steady fullback Matt Kirby punishing us, it kept them ahead for most of the game.
Going into the game we had the biggest injury list i could remember for some time, those who moved position or came into the team responded well.
Like all years this is a league that needs you to have a squad of players, with our 2nd xv having also a great win beside us, it was a day for the entire squad.
David Keane referred the game game well and we wish Clonakility good luck the rest of the season and hope both of us play again next year in Division 2A.
