Help kick cancer into touch and take part in a charity tag rugby tournament sponsored by McClearys residential estate agents. Organisers are calling on ‘tag teams’ of action men and women all across the province to help them raise funds by taking part in their summer charity Tag Rugby tournament. The tournament is being supported by Ulster and Irish rugby player Chris Henry. It’s only £5 per player so a great way to have fun, keep fit and support a local charity. and the organisers are sure it is set to be a great day out for all lovers of the tag game.
The tournament will take place on Sunday 29 August 2010 between 11am & 3pm and is open to both men and women with anything between 7 to 12 players per team. Taking place at The Pavillion, Stormont home to the NI Civil Service RFC the facilities will be of a very high standard. A maximum of 20 teams will battle it out to claim the title of ‘IRFU Charity Tag Team 2010’. Men and women, aged 16 and above are all encouraged to participate and the usual tag rules will apply.
Ulster captain Chris Henry is delighted to be supporting the event and encourages you to sign up and play. He will be there to award the cup to the overall winner and select player of the tournament throughout the day. Spectators are encouraged to come along on the day and join in the fun.
PR and Events Officer for Action Cancer Lucy McCusker said: “I am really excited about this years tag tournament It’s a fab day out for both players and families who come along to watch! Tag has become such a popular summer sport so we expect places will go fast – so I’d persuade anyone interested to get in touch as soon as possible.”
