Trick-or-treat and thrive! The ultimate Halloween survival guide for parents

As the temperature starts to cool and warm pumpkin spice lattes make a return, it’s a reminder that Halloween is just around the corner. Whether you’re trick-or-treating, hosting a party or just enjoying
the eerie atmosphere, here are some top tips for a stress-free spooky season:_

Plan your costume in advance
We’ve all been there, scrambling the shelves to find something that matches the last pair of cat ears you’ve found in the supermarket.
This year, avoid the last-minute stress and splurge by planning.
Whether you’re buying a readymade getup or going down the DIY route,
make sure you have all of parts of the costume and accessories secured in good time.

Set the scene with spook-tacular decorations
Get creative with your Halloween decorations and go all-out to create your own haunted house. Using black paper, cut out bat shapes and
stick them to your windows to turn your home into a creepy bat cave.
Or for a fun activity to do with your little ones, save some empty jam jars to create mystical mummy lights. Wrap the empty jars in bandages or tissue paper, add some googly eyes and place a tealight candle
inside. Guide your guests with flickering lanterns, and don’t forget to play some eerie music to set the spooky mood!

Frightening family fun
Plan plenty of indoor games and activities for all ages to enjoy
(…and tire them out!) – whether it’s bobbing for apples, setting
up a spooky scavenger hunt, musical zombies, pinning the tail on the
black cat or having a scary movie marathon, it’s the perfect time
for the whole family to come together, keep warm and get involved.

Create a Halloween hydration station
With little ones working up a thirst collecting their Halloween loot, why not stock up on a family-favourite drink and set up the ultimate
hydration station? Fill a spooky cauldron with ice and Capri-Sun’s
limited-edition Halloween character pouches and offer trick or
treaters a ghoulishly-good thirst-quencher that parents will
appreciate too. Look out for the golden ghost in your Capri-Sun
Halloween packs to be in with the chance of winning the ultimate
Halloween treat – £1,000!

Beat the supermarket frenzy and stock up early
Shops have limited stock of Halloween sweets and pumpkins every year, so it’s always a good idea to stock up as early as possible. Pickin gup sweet treats in good time will also help you avoid the seasonal
price hike. Aim to get goodies sorted at least two weeks before
Halloween to avoid being haunted by empty shelves on the day!

Capture the memories
Don’t forget to take plenty of photos! Capture all the Halloween
fun, from the best costumes to the mishaps, try to snap everything. In years to come, the chaos will be happy family moments to look back on. Why not set up a homemade photo booth? Find an old cardboard box and

Witchy hair and beauty ideas for your Last Minute Halloween Spooktacular
Feature. I’m a Hair and Beauty Expert at Family Hair and Beauty Salon,
where I love visiting new places and transforming people, especially
during holidays like Halloween when the imagination goes wild!

So here are some Halloween themes that I feel would be more
appropriate for your readers, especially those who love rugby and
enjoy dressing up to events and parties and wish to be different from
the rest:

Haunting Doll Hair Makeover:
The Witchy Wavy Hair: Huge dark wavy hair with temporary black or
purple hair spray for that ultimate witchy appeal. A staple in every
woman’s closet Jessica Waweru.
Undead hair: Shoulder-length disheveled hair teased with grey-green
highlights followed and random narrow curls. Fake cobwebs and or small
skull hair accessories can be added to enhance its creep appeal.
Rainbow Skull braids: these are hair braids combined with glitter.
They can be worn by children and even when attending rugby players’
parties but are extremely cute.

Hallows Eve Makeover:
Dark Red glam: Sparkling reds on the lips with complemented sharp dark
eyeliners and heavy contouring sums up a vampy style.
Skeleton Face Art: Half skull and half regular face makeup which is so
cool without crossing over to scary. This is pretty easy to do making
it suitable for readers who might need a quick change after practice!
Spiderweb Eye Makeup: Having a traditional spider web pattern drawn on
the face.

Fast and Easy Designs for Halloween Nail Art:
Bloody Nails: Looks like deep red tips on black or dark purple nails
which are styled in blood droplets.
Ghosts Who Glow: Nice and scary, glow polish with tiny bat ghoul
designs is for those who enjoy the more whimsical side of Halloween.

All the looks your readers can create are easy enough using a few
things that they probably have at home making it very appropriate for
the quick options on preparation for Halloween! I would like these
concepts to help your guide, and I am more than happy to make more
suggestions if you wish. If you would like to dig into any of the
outlined approaches please do not hesitate to tell me.

Nextdoor brings back popular feature just in time for Halloween

* Neighbourhood network, Nextdoor, has relaunched its much loved
‘Treat Map’ [1] to help trick-or-treaters plan their routes this
Halloween
* Neighbours can mark their home with a spooktacular-themed icon to
show if they’re open to visitors and giving out treats
* Almost every parent (96%) on Nextdoor will take part in Halloween
celebrations this year, with neighbours expecting to spend £170, 57%
more than the average consumer

With Halloween just around the corner, Nextdoor has announced the
return of a popular feature to help families across the UK find the
best streets for trick-or-treating in their local area.

Back by popular demand, the neighbourhood network has relaunched its
‘Treat Map [1]’, allowing people to share if they are celebrating
Halloween and if other houses nearby are too. Almost all parents (96%)
on Nextdoor plan to celebrate Halloween this year, platform data has
revealed, and with almost two-thirds of parents (63%) planning to
trick-or-treat this year, the feature couldn’t come at a better
time.

From now until October 31st, users can drop a themed pin on the Treat
Map [1] for their home or local business to indicate their plans to
decorate or hand out sweets for Halloween. Neighbours can also add
images and text to their pins to encourage others to join in on the
fun.

The Treat Map isn’t the only feature on Nextdoor helping users to
celebrate. With recent data revealing that neighbours are expecting to
spend, on average, a _terrifying _£170 on Halloween festivities, 57%
more than the average consumer, users can visit the platform’s For
Sale & Free section to help keep costs low. From decorations to
costumes, users can access over 3.5m pre-loved items listed on For
Sale and Free, with 1.5m of these being offered completely for free.

“If you’re seeking the best trick-or-treating spots this Halloween,
then look no further,” said Alice Skeats, spokesperson for Nextdoor
UK.

“Back by popular demand, our interactive Treat Map is the ultimate
tool for parents planning a spooktacular Halloween adventure with
their little witches, wizards, ghosts, and ghouls.

“Our research reveals an astounding 96% of parents on Nextdoor are
planning to partake in Halloween celebrations this year. So, let our
Treat Map take the guesswork out of planning and be your trusty guide,
leading you to the doors of friendly neighbours joining in on the
spooky spirit.

“We understand Halloween isn’t for everyone, so our Treat Map also
helps you respect the wishes of those who prefer a quieter evening.”

Neighbours can find the Treat Map now on the Nextdoor app, or by
visiting nextdoor.co.uk/treatmap
