Enniskillen 3rd XV were confirmed as Ulster Regional Premier league champions last weekend as Belfast H.S conceded their trip to Mullaghmeen. This tops off an excellent season for the 3rd XV that makes them the new holders of the Ravenhill Cup. The 3rd XV has been a real beacon this last season of the value of grassroots rugby, with a high number of players, coming both from the club’s own youth structure and the local school system, making their Senior rugby debut for the 3rd XV alongside experienced former 1st XV players and even those who have returned to rugby after lengthy absences. Captain Stephen Tummon, currently out with injury, and Team Manager Trevor Whittaker have worked hard this season around departing students and changing work schedules to consistently field for fixtures throughout Ulster and build an enjoyable and competitive team environment which has resulted in well deserved success.
