Just back from the Rugby Section AGM; what a positive one it was!!! News on some key events and efforts to drive the club forward, new faces (and old faces returning); lots of reasons to be positive for the season ahead. I really think this can be a breakthrough year for the 2nd XV with so many hungry young players at the club. The following are the awards for the 2nd XV in 2011-2012:
Player of the Year (as voted for by players): Andi Stevenson after a very close fight with Leor Ovadia
Young Player of the Year (again voted by players): Jack Wilson in a landslide victory
Top Try Scorer: Ronan Austin (still think there are a couple of dubious ones in there…..)
Thanks to all the 2nd XV squad for their efforts last season. I look forward to seeing you all AT TRAINING!!!!! and on Saturdays this coming season!
