The Gordon West cup attracts many teams across Ulster and will for the spectator represent a high paced game with an increased athleticism and excitement as the teams who make it to this stage are high level sides with personnel from a diverse rugby background and competing amongst the highest ranks of rugby in Ulster. At this level its I XV teams and I XV coaches and background staff. An enormous amount of planning will have gone into this game and the public relations officials in both clubs have been busy this week coordinating with local press in the respective towns and publicising their clubs place in the final. Through social media and various internet based mediums.

WHEN IT STARTED
The Competition first began in 2000 with the final between Lurgan and Strabane
WHICH TEAMS PARTICPATE
Kukri Qualifying Three teams play in the Gordon West Cup. The first stage of the competition is played as a league format before going on to knockout.
WHY THE COMPETITION WAS SET UP
It is played as a memorial to Mr Gordon West. He was a past president of Ulster Branch, IRFU who played at and served Armagh throughout his life.
