The Danske Bank Ulster Schools Cup got under way in early December when Antrim Grammar School and Strabane Academy played in a preliminary round game, which the Antrim Grammar school team won.
The first round games took place on January 10, with all matches played on a home or away basis on Saturdays up to the semi-finals with seven schools progressing through to the second-round draw.
Banbridge Academy, Portadown College, Limavady Grammar School, Carrickfergus Grammar School, Regent House, Grosvenor Grammar School and Foyle College came through their round 1 encounters. These teams will be joined in the second round by Bangor Grammar, Belfast High School, Belfast Royal Academy (BRA), Dalriada School, Down High School, Omagh Academy, Portora Royal, Rainey Endowed and Royal School Armagh.
