Don’t let blisters ruin your game
Marin Cilic, this years runner up in Wimbledon men’s final was spotted noticeably in tears during the most important game of his career. He claimed his mind was “blocked with pain”, due to a blister on his left foot.
David Wain, Carnation footcare podiatrist tells us. “Blsiters are a collection of fluid found under a layer of skin. They occur due to rubbing from repetitive shear forces quite often as a result of wearing ill fitting shoes.
Never burst, peel or pick a blister!”
David’s 5 blister busting tips….
1. Sounds obvious, but wear the correct fitting shoes.
2. Wear them in gently before carrying out great periods of activity.
3. Wear two pairs of socks if needs be!
4. Try Carnation’s Anti Blister Stick. Containing two types of wax, simply rub on the chosen area to reduce inflammation.
5. Use Carnation Hydro Blister Plasters made from a special material to provide a controlled environment over the blister to promote rapid healing.
