Free Transport Part of Enhanced Fan Experience at Women’s Rugby World Cup in Paris 

 

  • Free Shuttle Buses to take fans to Marcoussis for Pool stages
  • First in a series of fan focused initiatives in Paris
  • Tickets still available for #WRWC2014Fans travelling to the Women’s Rugby World Cup pool stages in Paris will be able to avail of free shuttle buses to the matches in Marcoussis.

    The headquarters of the Fédération Française de Rugby in southern Paris will host the pool stages of the tournament, which kicks off on August 1.

    Ticket holders travelling from central Paris will be able to take the train to Massy station, where free shuttles buses will bring them to Marcoussis, as part of an initiative with Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP).

    They will also bring supporters back to Massy station after pool games on August 1, 5 and 9.

    IRB Tournament Director Philippe Bourdarias said: “With massive interest in the pool stages of the tournament in Marcoussis, today’s announcement is great news for fans coming from central Paris.”

    “With just over three weeks until kick-off, fans are all set to watch the pinnacle event in women’s Rugby and it’s a big bonus that they can get to and from the event in comfort.”

    “I wish to thank the FFR and RATP in Paris for their hard work to ensure supporters of the women’s Game can get to Marcoussis for what is set to be a great spectacle.”

    Tickets for the pool stages in FFR headquarters in Marcoussis and the semi-finals and final in Stade Jean Bouin in central Paris are selling quickly. Prices start as low as €5 and can be bought here.

    The Women’s Rugby World Cup will be broadcast by France TV and Eurosport. Fifteen matches will be broadcast to a global audience over the five match days in the French capital, including all matches from pitch one in Marcoussis and six matches from Stade Jean Bouin.

    Several matches will be also be live streamed on www.irb.com during the tournament and further streaming details will be announced in due course.
