Friday 19th November will be a night full of many memories for some former pupils from Ballyclare High School. After leaving school over 30 years ago some of the pupils in the form year who joined the school in 1970 and subsequently left around 1977, have made arrangements for a big re-union celebration which will take place in Belfast City Centre.
Plans for holding this event have been in preparation for some considerable time and this year numbers interested have grown with about 60 names already contacted. Using local sources and social network internet sites the group has successfully managed to trace people here in Northern Ireland, in England, Scotland, Wales and all around the world from Sweden, the USA and down under in Australia.
To help keep members of the group in regular touch and bridge those years of separation, a new social website has been created. It has a forum for discussion groups covering old school memories, current trips and events, and helps keep members in contact with each other leading up to the main event in November. Old school photos and more recent photos of the group are also posted by the members on to the website.
Anyone who was in the form year from 1970 – 1977 is invited to join the website and will be made most welcome to the re-union event on 19th November. For further information go to the website www.ballyclare.ning.com or email ballyclarehs1977@btinternet.com
