This was a very busy weekend for the Finn Valley Rfc, with the u17s travelling to cavan and were very unlucky not too get the points with some great phases of play and never give up to the last seconds, the score line did in no way reflect the effort and skill these boys took to Cavan. Keep the hard work up lads at training at it’ll come. Final score FVRFC.7-39 Cavan RFC. The u13,u15 and u17 training is on a Thursday evenings from half four to six at the Finn Valley Centre, new players welcome. ACTION SHOTS CLICK HERE
The middle fixture took the men to take on Letterkenny, to play their second strings. The game started very well with our men putting Letterkenny under serious pressure but couldn’t quiet finish it off. Letterkenny got a line out five meters out before the second half ended and mauled it over the line for a try in the corner, the conversion was missed. The second half started as the first finished no team could quite get the better of each other, finally Finn Valley got a penalty inside Letterkenny’s 22 with a quick tap and run saw us cross the white wash, the try was converted, the second half ended FVRFC.7-5 Letterkenny Rfc. Training for the men is on Tuesday and Thursday nights from half seven to nine at the Finn Valley Centre, new players welcome.
The biggest game of the weekend and since the clubs forming our Ladies took to the stage in Ballyshannon for their first friendly, only formed under a week the ladies done themselves proud and indeed the club also, Ballyshannon started the scoring and indeed looked they could make our girls heads go down but they kept plugging away and with time our girls found their inner fire. The second half came around and the Finn Valley Ladies put together some lovely phases of play and great defence and held Ballyshannon to only two tries in the second half. All the hard work paid off and saw Finn Valley score under the posts, the conversion missed, final score FVLRFC.5-38 Ballyshannon Rfc. Ladies training is on at the Finn Valley Centre at half seven on a Wednesday night any new ladies wanting to start just come along, no experience is necessary.
This week sees our Ladies take on Ballymoney Ladies on sunday the 19th down at the den kick off 2pm, this is a really special event for the club indeed the whole of the Finn Valley as this is a mile stone because its the first Ladies team in the area come along and show your support to them.
