Fermanagh Redskins travelled to Magherafelt to play Rainey Old Boys rugby league team last saturday, in a friendly match. Rainey are a team like the Reskins who have just started this year playing rugby league, but did not enter into the league fixtures. The match was played in a great spirit with both teams playing some very good rugby. The Redskins were the first team to score but it was Rainey who took the lead shortly after and held until the last play of the match. The final score finished 38 points to 34 in the Redskins favour. For large periods of the match the Redskins looked like a rugby league team completing all their tackles and getting their kick in on their last tackle. The most important game for the Redskins to come takes place on Saturday 19 June in Portadown against Strangford Sharks, the winner of this match will take 2nd place and have a home semi final in the playoffs. Training still takes place on Wednesday nights at 7.30pm, at ERFC grounds.
