“Drawing inspiration from Swiss design, and conventions from Bulldog’s own brand aesthetic, the covers all feature elements lifted from the pages of the books. Sherlock Holmes’ loupe along with an hour-glass symbolic of The Time Machine are obvious visual links.”

“More subtly the two-coloured division of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the view of Earth from Mars, influenced from The War of the Worlds make up the striking designs hinting at the books’ topics.”

This year marks the 70^th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day and the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and The Royal British Legion is playing a leading role in ensuring the memories of those who fought and died in the Second World War live on.

The Battle of Britain was one of the turning points in that war and the brave air crews involved, of whom nearly 1500 died, undoubtedly helped prevent Germany from invading Britain.

Only 35 Spitfires remain in use around the world today. Of these, the Spitfire P7350, having survived the Battle of Britain complete with battle scars and bullet holes is now the oldest and most historically significant airworthy plane of its type in existence. Recent restoration work on the P7350 and the removal of the original metal, duralumin, has allowed TMB Art to obtain and create these truly unique cufflinks.

Cast in the shape of a poppy, the design of the products is based on a pressed poppy found in the World War One diary of Private Smith and each set of cufflinks is different, thanks to the age and character of the metal used.

All cufflinks are supplied in high quality wooden cases complete with illustrated certificates of provenance and will be a talking point around any meeting table or black tie event.
