Ulster Senior League
Conditions at Deramore Park were dank and windy but Dungannon adapted better and quickly put Harlequins under pressure. Out half Michael Lawton had a good day with the boot in very tricky kicking conditions he kicked six out of six as Dungannon ran out winners by five tries to one.

2 XV League
There was a dogged encounter at Stevenson Park, the home side started brightly but lost their way allowing Banbridge to edge the opening quarter. Winger, Clarke McAllister fired over penalties on five and ten minutes to make it 6 – to Bann.
With twenty minutes still remaining the home side needed a try to build on the slender two point advantage. Following a five metre scrum Andrew Caddoo launched an attack with Timmy Potter acting as linkman for Chris Henderson. Alas for Dungannon the latter was bundled into touch by a tight Banbridge defence. Indeed it was the seventieth minute before Dungannon made the break literally, through Stuart Gilroy whose slick pass to Alan Cummings allowed the winger to touch down in the right hand corner. The home side looked more comfortable at 18 -11 but a late surge from Banbridge may have proved costly but the resolute Dungannon defence held to take the spoils.

Forster Cup
Dungannon IVs cleared the first hurdle in their Forster Cup campaign with a deserved, if not slightly flattering, win over Coleraine IVs at Stevenson Park. The home side started brightly with Julian Knipe setting the backs in motion at every opportunity.
Skipper Julian Knipe said afterwards, “I am very pleased with the result. Coleraine play in a higher league section than us and have some very useful players. In addition that was out first game since 27 November so we were very rusty. All in all after the lay-off it was a good game to win”.

Northern Bank Schools Cup
RSD mastered the first hurdle in this year’s Northern Bank Schools Cup campaign with an impressive 35-0 win over Antrim Grammar at the Armstrong Field on Saturday morning. It proved to be a field day for U19 International, Peter Nelson who scored thirty of the thirty-five points on offer. Peter claimed a hat trick of tries, penalties and conversions. That said it was a great team effort amidst dreadful overhead conditions. RSD clearly benefited from their recent Italian tour and when it came to the Cup they adapted to the conditions better than their gallant visitors.
