Saturday saw Dungannon rfc ‘s Stevenson Park ground host a fundraising carnival which was a brilliant success.

The ground was buzzing with activity. The main event being the Marathon fun run relay, which all of the club and the wider Dungannon community enthusiastically participated in.

From the mini rugby boys and girls running with their parents and coaches. To the Youth section, the golden oldies (consisting of many long serving clubs alecdoo’s and die hard supporters) running with friends of the club. Not to forget the Senior squad running in the final stage in an open class event with their Hockey friends Dungannon Ladies Hockey Club.

Whilst the day had a central theme of a marathon fun run relay it was far from the only thing going on at Stevenson Park. There was something to suit all, with bouncy castles, sumo suits, horse rides an ever popular bbq, ice-cream and candy floss were consumed in equally large measure and judging by the sounds of laughter from the Rodeo bucking bronco and Gladiator style duelling platforms the day was a certified success.
First XV coach and ex Irish International and Ulster star Kieran Campbell said, “Today has been great fun and by the looks of it this is going to have to be an annual event, everyone has been really enjoying themselves.”
