Dromore U13′s make a promising start to the 2011-2012 rugby season.

Saturday saw Dromore U13′s host a home turf game against a well organised and coached Malone U13 side. Opening exchanges from both sides involved both forwards and backs. First blood was to Malone with a well worked try through their pack. Dromore reacted well with an immediate response scoring in the corner after a good interchange of play between the pack and the backs.

A strong second half performance saw Dromore extend their lead by a further two tries through the “The Rock” Luke Fitzsimons. Other dynamic displays of forward power were shown by Elliot Forbes, David Lyttle and Fred Pepper. This platform allowed the backs Andrew McKinstry, Bill Ferris, Chris Patterson, Tom Priestly and Roger Russell the chance to run with the ball. A great personal kicking display from the trusty boot of Robin Cantley gave the home team territorial advantage throughout the game.

A quality opener from the Dromore team and their coaches invite any local players wishing to join this squad aged 11 to 13 to attend each Wednesday night at Dromore Rugby Football Club for training at 7:00pm sharp.
