Our first had a great start 2 their league campaign with a big win at home against Monaghan yesterday. 3 tries in first 10 mins set the tone for the game, and Donegal didnt let up. 2 tries from Shane gillespie , Peteso cannon with 2 and a Jason Vance try gave Donegal a 35-0 half time lead.. Our defence was very good and we didnt let Monaghan get any foothold on the game and with our backs and forwards moving the ball well , it didnt take long 4 more tries 2 come with 5 more in the 2nd half . Emmett and jimmy brogan, Declan bushell , Lee mosley and Graeth mcmurrey getting on the score sheet… Peteso cannon converted 9 of the 10 tries… A great team performance..
Our 2nds travelled 2 Finn Valley with a very young and inexperienced team and came up against a very strong Finn Valley team..
Donegal gave as good as they got though, but for some wrong decisions at the vital time, it could have been a different result. With only 2 minutes of the half 2 go it was all level at 3-3 But a quick penalty by valleys no10 caught Donegal napping and he sneaked in under the post 2 make the score 10-3 at half time. Donegal started the 2nd half the stronger, but just couldnt get past a strong Valley defence, and they then put pressure on Donegal, and they scored 2 make it 17-3, and with time nearly up they scored once more 2 finish the game 24-3 winners..Donegal can hold their heads high as they played very well and if they continue the good work they do at training, victories will come…
