Ulster Juniors
Ulster Juniors played the second game of the inter provincial campaign in Coleraine last Saturday when they took on their Munster counterparts. Both sides were unbeaten after Round One but it was the Munster men who ended victorious pulling away to a 29-9 win. Ulster were unfortunate to have been without their scrum-half and captain Scott Nelson (Ballymoney) who suffered a back injury against Connacht the previous week and then lost influential No. 8 Michael Rainey (Ballyclare) midway through the first half of Saturday’s game. On the day Munster proved too strong with a barnstorming performance from their pack and in particular their powerful back row. Donaghadee were again represented by Chris Hamilton who started at openside and Phil Eadie who came off the bench early in the second half to bolster the pack. Sterling performances from both men who now look forward to the final game of the series against Leinster at Wicklow RFC next Saturday (ko 2:30pm).
