A Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ team will travel to Wales to play the Cardiff Academy U18 team at Glamorgan Wanderers RFC on Friday 16th August. The Ulster Schools’ squad has been working hard throughout the summer period at the excellent facilities at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown with a major input from Ulster Rugby staff, under the watchful eye of Elite Player Development Manager, Allen Clarke, as well as the Ulster Schools’ coaches, Richard Hedley and John Andrews.
This game is seen as vital in terms of preparation for the forthcoming Schools’ Inter Provincial series to be held in September. Further games in August will be played against Lancashire Schools, at U17 level and Sale Academy at U18 level. Following these games, the squad for the Interprovincial series will be announced.
The Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ squad finished as runners up in the 2012 series and the 2013 squad will be hoping to go one step further this season.
The Inter Pros will see Ulster Schools’ play Connacht Schools at home on September 7th, Leinster Schools at home on September 14th and travel to play Munster Schools on September 21st (Venues and KO times to be confirmed)
