Armoy fielded a makeshift team in order to fulfill their final league match.. The final score was Cookstown 31- Armoy 19. An early converted try from Barry Kelly and four penalties from the boot of Jarvis Traynor were not enough to hold back a well drilled and efficient Cookstown XV. This result ended Armoy’s unbeaten run in the league as it would have been a great achievement to have remained unbeaten for the seaon. Special thanks must go to Michael McGaughie and Malachy McClafferty who pulled on their boots for the first time this season in order for us to have a full 15.
Armoy’s next fixture is a semi final of the Ravenhill cup on 23rd April. The opponents and location of this match are still to be decided.
