A Mid Ulster based rugby club is looking for a coach for the incoming season. The club is well established with great backing from local businesses and boasts excellent playing and training facilities. The team currently plays in the minor leagues and aims to secure promotion after the incoming season. Over the past several years the club has progressed in line with the increased level of interest in rugby in the local area. The club is very competitive, it currently fields one 1st XV team but has a squad comprising 25 to 30 players with an average age of 28. Given competition for places and level of interest from players, it hopes to establish a 2nd XV to develop more players.
In terms of last season the team finished second in the league following just two defeats and reached the quarter final of the McCambley Cup; narrowly losing out to eventual winners Ballymena 5th XV. Given the level of our performances, our previous coach was offered a coaching role at a Senior Rugby club… therefore the role represents an fantastic platform for a coach to progress their career!
The club has its own professionally qualified fitness/conditioning coach. It’s a very friendly club with a very active social calendar and a lot of ambition. With senior players handling team management and logistics the prospective coach could concentrate on training and coaching and would have the support from all at the club and players.
