We are delighed here to report on the highest level of Ladies club rugby in Ulster. Cooke RFC Ladies met the challenge of playing arguably the number one side in AIL Ladies Rugby UL Bohemians.
Cooke started very strong from the kick off. This game at Cooke grounds looked like shaping up for a good performance but as the game progressed Ul Bohemians settled quicker.
UL Behomians led at the break with two tries.
Cooke in the first half put together some very good line outs, good scrums but the final pass was letting them down.
UL Bohemians are a massive side in AIL 1 and have been winning everything.
Cooke rallied in the second half with points and a period of hard fought rugby followed. The scoreline does not reflect what is in effect only a marginal difference between these sides.
Cookes scrummage held up well but the visitors ran in the victors.
Frustrating for Cooke and if they can find just an extra 10% they will start to win this critical encounter.
Congratulations to both teams for putting on a display of top flight AIL Rugby at Cookes grounds Shaws Bridge.
Cooke Ladies are playing Blackrock next week. 1pm kick off and another vital home game!
Looking forward to covering all the action this year at Cooke Ladies RFC.
