10/09/2013 : Gentleman Jim retires after 31 years as bar stewar

Coleraine Rugby Football and Cricket Club said goodbye to their long serving bar steward on Saturday evening – 7 September 2013.

It was an emotional event as Jim McGurk was thanked by over 200 club members for more than 31 years of dedicated service to the club.

Club president Norman Blair led the proceedings and detailed some of Jim’s many achievements in his time in charge of club functions and the bar. Jim responded with accounts of some of his favourite moments and memories of the people he grew to know so very well in the club.

Jim was presented with a number of gifts to mark his well earned retirement and his wife Kathleen was also presented with a gift. The couple and their son Neil spent the rest of the evening enjoying the company of their many friends.

All members of the club wish Jim a long and happy retirement – and now we look forward to seeing him on our side of the bar from time to time.
