City of Derry Rugby Club returns to Ulster Senior League action this Saturday with a home fixture at Judges Road against Dungannon, Kick-off; 2.30pm. Both team come to the game on the back of All Ireland League victories last Saturday. Dungannon defeated Dublin University at home in AIL Division 1B by 21pts to 6pts and Derry went to NUIM Barnhall and came away with 23pts to 18pts victory in AIL Division 2A.
Dungannon have had an indifferent start to their season loosing their first AIL match away to Malone by 20pts to 10pts. They have played four times in the Ulater League winning two and loosing two. They have beaten Ards and Harlequins at home but have lost away to Armagh and Ballymena. City of Derry have just had two games in the Ulster League loosing away to Ballynahinch and winning at home to Ballymena.
This fixture on Saturday will be the first of two games between Derry and Dungannon as they meet again on Saturday week at Stevenson Park in the Q/Final of the Ulster Senior Cup. City of Derry Coaches Mark Nicholl and Ashley Blair will use this fixture on Saturday to give their extended squad a run out ahead of the Cup fixture the following weekend which will be followed by two All Ireland League Fixtures at home to Naas and away to Bective.
