A disappointing day at the Palace Grounds two teams changed warmed up and raring to go, it then transpired that there was no Referee on investigation it was found that the original referee Mark Patton was re appointed to officiate in an Amlin Trophy match in France and due to a mistake by the Ulster Branch there was no other Referee appointed therefore the game had to be called off. We the Club believe that the Branch has sole responsibility to assign Referees to the games and the Club apologises to all supporters who attended to watch the game.
Armagh v Ballymena
A trip to the Palace grounds will provide spectators with a great match as both teams recorded excellent wins in their opening two fixtures in the All Ireland League. Armagh sit second from bottom in the Ulster Senior league after having points deducted for not fulfilling their fixture at City of Derry. Captain Richard Reaney will want his Orchard county team to record a win to take into the All Ireland league when it recommences on 26th October. Ballymena continue to entertain with their free scoring style of play contributing to their very encouraging start to the season. The Ulster Senior League offers the opportunity for Bryan Young and his team to bring further silverware in the form of the Stevenson Shield back to Eaton Park. An in-form Ballymena should win this one.
