Boxing Day is the traditional date for the Kyle Cup, although in recent years it has been the 2nd XVs of Dungannon and Ballymena who have contested the trophy. This year Ballymena brought the cup back to Eaton Park with a 38-15 win. Captain John Nicholl is pictured receiving it from Dungannon President John Beattie.
Banbridge proved the equal of Ballymena for long periods in the game, without really threatening the try line. Ballymena had scored two good tries through Frazer and Pritchard ,and led 17-6, but a mistake in midfield gave Banbridge a position to drive over for a late try.
