Carrick Youth U17s impress against Ballymena.
Carrickfergus RFC Youth sides travelled to Ballymena on Saturday under no illusions that nothing less than 100% commitment on their part would be needed to record winning results in what would be very difficult league fixtures. At U17s level Carrick made a very positive start with wing forward Jordan Devenney pouncing on a dropped ball, kicking through to score a try under the posts in the opening minute which was converted by S Wallace. Carrick’s lead was extended 10 minutes later with a penalty from S Wallace. To their credit Ballymena hit back with a converted try before half time. In the second half Carrick again scored first but Ballymena responded with one of their own but despite sustained pressure could not add to their tally
