This may seem a terrible result, but this Carrick side have 7 or 8 new players who are learning rugby from scratch! On that basis it is an absolute credit to Carrick Rugby club that they have retained 7 or 8 seasoned players who know their game but now also have a squad of 24 players who are getting better at playing rugby every week.
As they find their wings they will steadily improve at rucking, mauling, passing, attacking and defending.
We have no doubt that if these players stay at this and commit to their team for the long term they will start to win games. Maybe not this season but by next season this will be a formidable team.

Well done to them for fronting up and putting their bodies on the line for Carrick.
They are playing Cavan away next week and have organised a fundraising night at their club, and a fancy dress event for Halloween!
Grass roots rugby is alive and well in this squad.
The victory went to Navan, they played well with good mauls and all round skills including their backs. Congratulations to them, on a solid and strong performance on all levels and we wish them a fantastic season.
