In 1976 Charlie Mullin opened C.E. Motor Factors in the garage at his parents home in Dungiven- a part time operation which within months developed from evening and weekend trading to a full-time, two man operation. Within two years the company opened a second branch in Limavady which today is the Headquarters of the firm.
The business has grown and diversified over the years and is now managed by Charlies son Cathal
Cathal explains;

As Cathal points out value for money needn’t mean skimping on quality, with C. E. Motor Factors supplying only superior product lines.
“We only sell parts that are of an original manufacturer’s quality or better. We have a long successful relationship with our suppliers and only use premium brands and products with lengthy warranties which provide the customer with that sense of security.
“There are a lot of inferior products available on the market but in our experience they don’t last and in some cases are even dangerous to fit to the modern vehicle. Ultimately this is a false economy and ends up costing the motorist more money as the part develops a fault and a new part then needs to be refitted. Our emphasis on quality comes with the customer in mind,” he said.

“As the modern vehicle is becoming more complex we at C.E. Motor Factors have invested in a Diagnostic Computer so we can plug into any vehicle which has an engine management/ABS/ Airbag or any other warning light signalling a fault.
“We can diagnose what is wrong with the vehicle and order the requisite sensor or part that is needed to rectify the problem. We are the only Motor Factors in the county offering this service but we think it is important to go that extra mile to ensure we provide the service our customers require,” said Cathal.
