Pupils from Betws Primary School, Bridgend, will receive kit from LV= SOS Kit Aid this weekend (Sunday 3 February) at a special half-time presentation during the LV= Cup match between Ospreys and Harlequins at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field. Media are invited to attend the presentation for interview, photography or video opportunities.

In June 2012, Betws Primary School suffered a devastating fire that destroyed the school’s junior block and all of its sports kit and equipment. Rugby and cricket kit donated by LV= SOS Kit Aid will enable the pupils to get back out onto the rugby pitch and cricket field and enjoy school sport again.

John Broadfoot, Founder of SOS Kit Aid, said: “Thousands of young people across the UK who want to play cricket and rugby are unable to because they don’t have kit. After a tough six months for the school we are delighted to be able to help the staff and pupils of Betws Primary School with this kit donation and ensure they get the opportunity to once again enjoy the sports they love.”

Sponsored by LV=, SOS Kit Aid is a joint venture between The Lord’s Taverners and SOS Kit Aid and is supported by the International Rugby Board (IRB). The scheme has seen schools, clubs and the public donate their unwanted rugby and cricket kit to give disadvantaged children access to sport and create opportunities which would not have previously been available. LV= SOS Kit Aid was voted ‘best community recycling initiative’ at the Awards for Excellence and has received the backing of Prime Minister, David Cameron, and Sports Minister, Hugh Robertson.
