Local physical wellbeing clinic, Body Lab NI has launched a major new expansion with the relocation of its premises and extension of its services and facilities. The re-launch of the family run business was attended by Health Minister, Edwin Poots and a host of Northern Ireland sports professionals including Ulster Rugby player, Stephen Ferris who joined Minister Poots to officially open the new facilities.
Health Minister Edwin Poots said: “Health, fitness and wellbeing are essential elements if we are to maintain a healthy lifestyle and help tackle the problems caused by obesity and inactivity. My department encourages people to make positive lifestyle choices, which include taking regular physical activity as well as choosing a healthy balanced diet. I welcome the work of organisations like Body Lab NI which promote physical fitness and activity for people.”
The new premises, which are located at Valley Business Park in Newtownabbey, are registered with the Fitness Industry Authority and include a physiotherapy centre, two fully functional training studios, a Pilates studio, a treatment room for sports massage and holistic treatments, and a private consultation room for nutrition sessions, health checks and other specialist treatments. Free parking is available as well as individual showering facilities.
The expansion of the business has doubled the size of the team and allowed Body Lab NI to introduce new treatments such as hypnosis, acupuncture and holistic therapy.
Speaking at the launch of the new premises, Andrew Lavery, General Manager and Exercise Consultant at Body Lab NI, said: “In today’s stressed working environment many individuals struggle to achieve the balance in life to ensure they remain at their physical and mental best. We don’t sell our clients unrealistic celebrity images, but realistic expectations that are personally designed by experienced professionals to deliver achievable results which boost stamina, memory, strength and vitality. By expanding our facilities we have been able to extend the services we offer and have plans to develop the offering even further in the near future.”

Body Lab NI provides five clinics under one roof – Physiotherapy, Sports Massage, Nutrition, Personal Training and Pilates. Based on the individual needs of each client, Body Lab NI offers the design of a 6, 8 or 12 week programme which is produced by experts in their field, each maintaining a professional standard of qualification governed by The Register of Exercise Professionals, The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health Professions Council.
