Ballyclare RFC are delighted to announce that Bob Young will be coaching the club for the 2010-2011 season.
Pre-season training at the club started in Mid-July, with excellent numbers attending under the expert tutelage of Ronnie Lamont (who needs no introduction) and a hardened core of 40-50 players have duly turned up each and every Tuesday and Thursday with an extra day on Saturdays for cardio work.
The club has experienced the return of talent from Senior clubs such as Gary Clotworthy, Alan McGrugan and Jonathan Kennedy, all returning to a very strong Ballyclare side. With good depth in the club, all the teams at Ballyclare will compete well this season.
Competing in Qualifying 2 towards the top of the table last year is an indication of the talent at Ballyclare. They have had several fine seasons and the momentum through pre-season has been immense. All the teams are striving to improve their positions on last season.
Bob Young has joined the mix at a perfect time, with young and fit players ready to absorb his vast experience and understanding for the game. Having played Ulster A, captained Queens and Ballymena Bob’s experience will be invaluable.

To complete the team Ronnie Lamont a former British & Irish Lion will bring as he always does a passion for rugby at The Cloughan, and with stalwarts of the club such as Ian Morrow (this years President of Ballyclare RFC),Peter Kirk, and David Campbell (Director Of Rugby) the coaching team look forward to the coming season. Team manager this season is none other than Ian Brown X Ulster Out Half.
Club captain collie Morrow and 1st xv Captain Willie Logan two highly respected Ballyclare players will bring their experience to bear on the pictch and are steering the ship well.
