Big crowd expected to see Ulster rugby team hold opening training session at Clogher Valley rugby club on 14th August
Clogher Valley rugby club in Fivemiletown is the place to be on the afternoon of Friday 14th August when the Ulster rugby team makes a much anticipated visit to the local club. The visit by Ulster rugby is part of a series of events organised by Clogher Valley rugby club to celebrate its 25th anniversary.The trip to Clogher Valley is also part of Ulster Rugby’s long-term community engagement strategy.
Commenting on the open training session, Ulster’s Team Manager, Bryn Cunningham said:
“Our visit to Clogher Valley will give supporters the chance to see how the senior squad trains and will give them the opportunity to meet players that they might only have ever seen on television.
“This is a great way to say thank you for the support that the team receives from the west of the Province. It is also a way of recognising the important work that Clogher Valley do in promoting rugby to the public and introducing new players to the game.
“Hopefully this visit will help inspire even more new players and followers to the game.”
Supporters will have the chance to meet the team and there will be opportunities for photographs and autographs after the open training session.
Clogher Valley Rugby Club President, Greg Irwin, said:
“This is a special year for Clogher Valley as we celebrate our 25th anniversary. We are delighted that Ulster Rugby will be part of these celebrations and this will be the centerpiece of our festival of rugby planned for the 14th and 15th August. As well as Ulster rugby’s visit on the 14th we will be hosting a one-off 25th anniversary tournament on Saturday 15th involving Omagh, Enniskillen and Rainey rugby clubs and providing a range of family friendly activities on both days. Everyone is welcome to come along to the Cran from 12 noon on both days and entry is free. ”
