Our first game to cover since the senior cup final at Ravenhill after the worst weather in atleast 25 years.

Belfast High School vs Portora – good game of rugby and great to see the enthusiasm from both teams. A fairly wet day led to some handling errors by both sides but overall some excellent play from both sides.

Pure school rugby at a high standard is a pleasure to watch and cover. The set pieces are always excellent and the basics of the game are the focus. These two teams were no exception to this and they displayed fine line out skils, rucking, mauling and Belfast High had an excellent scrum.

1st Half – High School did dominate and won the half, although for periods of play Portora threatened them well and scored an awesome break away try. Belfast High scored several times with conversions and displayed some front up rugby in preparation for their local derby against Carrick Grammar next week.

2nd Half – More sustained pressure from Belfast High who did convincingly win the half, although again periods of play where dominated by Portora.

Managed to get pictures and video clips which you can see below – enjoy

Looking forward to covering both sides moving forward.
