The 4s scored seven great trys on a sunny afternoon at Deramore, seeing them ease past a stubborn and determined Randalstown team. The Randalstown side gave nothing away for large periods of the game and despite the final scoreline did not make it an easy day out for their Belfast hosts.

Once again the 4s had drawn a great crowd who were treated to some excellent running rugby throughout the game. The back line were not afraid to run ball from all areas of the pitch, they passed the ball wide and regularly found the Worm and the Ginger Ninja on the wings who made ground virtually every time they got the ball in hand.
The tone of the game was set by the referee who awarded a penalty within the first 30 seconds. He then proceeded to penalise both sides at will for indiscretions that may actually not exist. At times the frustration of both teams looked as if it could have boiled over but the players managed to keep a lid on it.
For the record, Ryan scored a superb 4 trys, three coming from quick ruck ball and well timed passing moves with the other coming straight from the kick off. A G in the centre deservedly scored two of his own after some direct running and with Robbo on his debut going over for another the result was never in doubt. Mark Scott convert 4 of the kicks to leave the final score 43-18 in Quins favour.
Randalstown crossed the Quins line three times and were in the game until the final 20 minutes but once the 4’s got their quick rucking game going the backs looked very dangerous. Overall it was a good team performance, the pack were very good in the loose and challenged their set pieces well. Adam Finlay distributed ball well to Scotty and another competent showing from Dr Fergal in the centre was good to see however for his attitude encouragement and ball carrying the Man of the Match was Caren Degan.
