Good results for 1st’s and 2nd’s

There were good home wins for the 1st’s in the Senior Cup and the 2nd’s in the league.

Unfortunately the 3rd’s lost out to a very sharp and well drilled Ballynahinch 3rd XV in a Junior Section 1 league game.

The 1st’s defeated Armagh for the second week in a row, the result being 15 – 0 and now puts them into the Senior Cup semi final draw with Ballymena, City of Derry and Instonians.

The semi final will be played on Saturday 19th November and of course you will hear the outcome of the draw here first.

Meanwhile the 2nd’s returned to league action and had a relatively straightforward win over Queen’s 2nd’s, 31 – 0. Solid displays all round with John Ferris the pick of the backs but this pundits man of the match was Brian Curran.

The 2nd’s of course are through to the quarter final of the Junior Cup following their victory over Armagh 2nd’s last week. The quarter final draw was made at Ravenhill this week and the line up is as follows;

Ballymena 2nd’s v Cooke

Dungannon 2nd’s v Donaghadee

Ballymoney v Portadown

Coleraine v Banbridge 2nd’s

The quarter final matches will be played on Saturday 12th November and all support will be welcomed to accompany Junior Vice President Noel Thompson and the 2nd’s to Coleraine.
