Ballymena 15 BANBRIDGE 1STs 17
November 23, 2013
“The Star of the County Down” was sung in the visitors’ changing room at Eaton Park with especial gusto on Saturday after Banbridge had picked up their first win in five AIL outings by beating the previously all-conquering Ballymena.

And despite the narrow margin of victory there was no disputing Bann’s right to the four points, as graciously conceded post-match by legendary Ballymena Lion Dr Sid Millar. “We don’t like losing here,” he announced in the Bann changing room. “But there’s no doubt you were the better team out there today and I congratulate you.”

Bann 4ths welcomed Lisburn 3rds to Rifle Park for their second home game of the season with a team mixed with youth and experience.

Bann started the stronger of the two teams and opened the scoring early on with Andy Wilson powering over in the corner after a quick pass from hooker Ryan Ringland, Jeff Dodds adding the 2 points with sublime touchline conversion.

Armagh 12 BANBRIDGE U17s 33
November 23, 2013
James Waugh led a Bann Under 17s which was determined to avenge the earlier friendly defeat to the skilful Armagh outfit.

The visitors started stronger but couldn’t turn their possession into points as the Armagh defence held firm. Against the run of play Armagh found the space out wide and ran in the first score.

The home side then enjoyed a period of possession and were quickly on the score sheet again with their other winger registering the second touchdown, which was converted.
