Ballyshannon Ladies are a development squad, newly formed and things are going from strength to strength! They now have the numbers to enter the Ulster Cup and we look forward to following them.
They recently entertained Letterkenny Ladies at home (20th Nov) and we managed to catch up with Shane Toolan a referee and Ballyshannon rugby stalwart for some notes from the game.
Ballyshannon Ladies v Letterkenny Ladies: Ulster Development league.
The game was played at Ballyshannon. Both teams performed well.
1st half: Letterkenny dominated and their strong centre scored two great tries.

2nd half: Ballyshannon started to get on top, but Letterkenny scored a great try following a great break by their centre and their winger scored under the posts.
Then Ballyshanmnon started to find their feet and dominated for the last 20 minutres scoring two tries and two conversions.
The game ended 17 / 14.
It is a credit to Ballyshannon as their team only started recently with about 12 players and numbers have started to increase. They now have 20 players and are going to play in the Ulster Cup this year.
Great to see a local derby outside Belfast and we look forward to all the news on both these teams.
